We are excited to announce that Morpheus Multimedia has been officially licensed to host Felabration 2024 across two major cities in the United Kingdom: Sheffield and Hull. As a proud licensed event, Felabration 2024: Look and Laugh in the UK will pay tribute to the life and legacy of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, the legendary Afrobeat pioneer, through music, culture, and community engagement.
What is Felabration?
Felabration is an annual global festival founded by Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s family following his passing in 1997. Over the years, it has grown into an international celebration of Fela’s revolutionary music and ideals. Each year, fans and artists from around the world unite to honour Fela’s lasting influence on music, culture, and social activism.
Felabration 2024: Look and Laugh
This year, we are honoured to bring Fela’s spirit to the UK through vibrant celebrations under our event platform, The Gidi Vibes™. Felabration 2024: Look and Laugh in the UK will feature a diverse lineup of live performances, DJ sets, and art exhibitions that showcase the rich heritage of Afrobeat and its global influence.
Why Felabration UK?
Fela Kuti was not just a musician; he was a revolutionary voice for social change and justice. His music transcends borders, resonating with people from all walks of life. By bringing Felabration to the UK, we aim to create a space where Fela’s message of unity, resistance, and empowerment continues to inspire and uplift.

This partnership allows us to offer an immersive cultural experience that captures the true essence of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and the Afrobeat movement.

Fágbèmí Ọ̀ṣìnúgà
I have been awed by the legacy of Fela Kuti since I was a teen living in Nigeria. Later in my career as an agency executive, I had the privilege of executing marketing campaigns at Felabration events. When the opportunity to host Felabration in the UK came up, it felt like a full-circle moment. Felabration 2024 is not just about celebrating Afrobeat; it’s about honouring Fela Kuti’s lasting influence and providing a platform for African and Afro-diasporic voices in the UK.
